Feeling a little overwhelmed…
Somehow things just tend to get jumbled and lost. I can write as many to-do lists as I like but there just isn’t enough hours in the day. I have a list as long as my arm of things I want to do but an so much more on my list of things I need to do. My inner Girl boss is crying out in pain.
I’m working on so much for this little space of the internet currently and I’m so excited to share everything. But in all honesty, it’s kind of overwhelming thinking about priorities and the bigger picture.
Which go me thinking about the future. I know, not that I need more to think about…
I’ve always wanted to be a Girl Boss
One day I want to be my own boss. I’ve always wanted this but the final picture has always been different. In school, I dreamt of being a Graphic Designer, In college I wanted to be Photographer and during University I pictured myself as a Freelance Artist. Now, I’d love to take blogging full time, sharing my love and passion online.
People change and so do their aspirations but I’d be willing to bet a lot of money this one won’t shift anytime soon. The only time I’ve ever wanted something more was when I dreamt of meeting Taylor Swift. Seeing as I’ve ticked that from my list, Girl Bossing my way through adulthood is next at the top. (Because, I guess: being best friends with Taylor Swift – might be a little farfetched. I guess).
Finding my happy peace and inner chi
I’ve been working so hard recently but it’s got to that point where my to-do list doesn’t seem to be getting any shorter and my priorities have gotten blurred.
It’s hard to focus on making dreams happen and bossing life, with a jumbled head. Which is why we all need our happy place. That place which radiates calm and clear-headed ness. And it just so happens mine is on the other side of the world *facepalm*.
So casually, the other day, I booked a ticket and flew 13hours from London to Thailand. Inner Girl Boss be free…
I’ve finally figured out exactly what my priorities are in order for me to achieve my goals in a more realistic way. The things that will eventually lead me to being the Girl boss I’m dreaming of.
So I thought I’d share them with you, and you can ensure I’m accountable that they all are met. We’re in this together!
Become more consistent at creating posts I love
Now, I don’t upload content unless I really believe in it but it’s got to the point where I’ve not been posting at all. To be the ultimate Girl boss, I need to more consistent. Ideally, that means posting two times a week. I’ve totally got this…
Have an Online Shop
I’m really proud of the visual aspects of my blog and I take a lot of care in that. I’d really love to be able to get back into creating the Art that I love and maybe sell prints as a side project. Because every Girl Boss has a plan B.
Expand my reach and content
I’ve gotten pretty comfortable with my content and that’s always a dangerous position to be in. Often the most successful self-employed entrepreneurs and Girl Boss’ are the one’s putting themselves outside of their comfort zones and I need to be doing it more.
It’s not all about the numbers, it’s about how much you enjoy what your doing, which I absolutely do. But I don’t think Taylor Swift would be her own kick-ass Girl Boss, doing what she loved for a living if 56,000 people didn’t buy her first album in the first week. As much as crunching numbers is bad, knowing what you’ve got helps you plan for the future. Plus it’s great to know other people are loving what your doing just as much as you are!
So that’s that. This is where I am with my blog at the moment and where I hope to be sometime in the future. If you want to help me, I’d love for you to leave a comment below. Or if you’d like to follow me on Twitter and Bloglovin to stay updated on how I get on with my Girl Boss goals…
