When it comes to make-up, living in the UK is a blessing and a curse, all in the same. We are lucky enough to have a host of amazing beauty brands at our fingertips but also some that you can’t yet get over here. Fortunately, my boyfriends sister visited New York over Valentines day weekend so I took the opportunity to get her to pick me up some items which aren’t as easy to find over here!
The Stila – Eyes are the Window Palette’s have recently made a huge mark on the beauty blogosphere so I picked up mine in ‘Soul’. The packaging is beautiful; metallic gold on the outside, rose gold on the inside and a cute little quote to make you smile. You get nude 12 nude shades in the palette, which range from matte creams to sultry, glitter-tastic browns. I love a bit of glitter on the eyes because it adds sparkle to the most enigmatic part of the face.
The Forumla X nail polish I have been dying to try for so long now, but I will be the first one to tell you I really don’t need any more to add to my collection. However I did need a good top coat, and the formula X ones have great reviews so i’m looking to try it out!
If you’ve been part of the beauty blogging scene for the past year, chances are you know about the brand Tarte. The Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation is probably one of the most blogged about products I’ve seen and it is on my lists of things to try, unfortunately i’m not good at guessing my shade as per website descriptions and at £23 a pot I thought it best not to risk it. So asked for the Amazonian Clay Blush in Fearless which is a pretty, muted barbie pink. I’m not normally one for pinks that are that bright and jarring but it looks so beautiful on the skin and you can build it up to be as sheer or bold as you like.
I am always on the search for a new liquid liner and i’d heard a few good things about Tattoo Liner by Kat Von D. The colour is black as black can get which is something I struggle to find with a liquid liner, especially those with felt tips. But this one is perfect and a great colour dupe to the MAC Fluidline plus much easier application. The point on the nib is amazing, making it so easy to get a perfect sharp flick on your cat eye.
And finally I picked out a couple MAC products because I am truly addicted and I couldn’t help myself. ‘Dark Side’ Lip Lustre Lipstick and another Fluidline Gel Liner in Waveline (Navy). There is a strong possibility that I need to go to some sort of Cosmetic addiction rehab because since George’s sister has returned i’ve been searching flights to New York for myself! I can dream.
